Keeping my Fingers Crossed!!!

We are just a day away from the auction for the second season for IPL. Chennai Super Kings has the biggest purse (Complete 2 Million USD) and the most slots to fill in the team (4 Slots) which makes it difficult for anyone to predict the strategy that will be followed by Chennai Super Kings.

As Cricinfo rightly points out, Chennai Super Kings desperately needs to add 1 or 2 good bowlers into its team. But I don’t believe that will prevent Chennai Super Kings from going for Flintoff or Duminy. Hope they are able to lay their hands on at least one of them. [I am sure Chennai Super Kings would not surely bid for KP]

With the experience of VB and Fleming, I am sure Chennai Super Kings management would bid wisely. But still I am keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I'm hoping that they try to get Shakib. He'd be a great asset to the team with his big hitting, aggressive spin bowling and good fielding. Other than him, I'd prefer Duminy! :)

@ Cricket Tragic,
Tragic is that CSK did not bid for Shakib.. :)

Yeah.. Duminy is a good pick.. But I would prefer Flintoff over him anyday..

@ Karthik,
What do you think of the buys?

@Chennai Superkings

We got flintoff for big money. They used some strategy But i think we used some strategy because we oram in injury and morkal will not available first 3 weeks. So we need some good all rounder. So they pick flintoff. For thusara he is left are bowler so we dont have any left arm fast bowler in our team. Its biggest disadvantage for us we had one monopoly attack. I dont know why they picked George Bailey. but he is very hard hitting batsman. We need him for sometime. So overall our team now good balance side

@ Karthik,
Yeah.. Thusara being a left arm bowler adds variety to the team.. But I still think Chennai Super Kings misses a real wicket taking bowler... A Person who bamboozles the opposition by his spin or by his pace..

In 20-20 we need some good swing bowler. So we have to equip Balaji. even last time dale steyn not done well. Thank god this time we have lot of bowler options other than jogindar shrma and amarnath. Now we have good local and talented bowlers like tyagi, gony, balaji and aswin. So we have to use them. I think this time our bowling department good better than last time.

@ Karthik,
Yeah.. Our bowling looks a lot stronger this time.. But still we could be a lot more stronger if we had a true bowling match-winner in the team...

yup, a matching winning bowler is the only thing tat stops us from being the ipl juggernaut.... an indian bowler even someone like a sreesanth or rp singh wud have been good enough to bolster the team up... it was our batting tat took us to the finals the last time... i just hope flintoff comes across good this season, sudeep tyagi too(am lookin forward to watch him bowl, he's supposed to be damn good in the ranji isnt he?)

@ raghav,
Yeah.. Tyagi has been good in the Ranjis.. Unlucky to miss the last IPL.. His lethal inswingers could be a very potent weapon.. I also believe he could be the surprise star of this season (if he finds a place in XI)..
