Collective Team Effort Defeats Royal Challengers!!!

What a way to storm into the finals. CSK and Royal Challengers Bangalore produced a great game of cricket today. With the way RCB played today, it would be tough for MI/KKR to defeat RCB in the 2nd semifinal. So don't rule another RCB match this season.

But the great news is that we get to play the final in our home.. So it is time we packed the stadium to the brim for the finals..

Positives:
1. Ashwin: His early wicket of Gayle was crucial. This kept CSK on the game. If Gayle has played until 10 overs, RCB would have won the game handsomely.
2. Bollinger: He raises his game for the crucial matches. I believe his form to the most crucial thing for CSK in the finals.
3. Raina: Another player for the big matches. What a way to come back to form. We can expect another cracker of innings from him on the finals.
4. Albie: What a way to pay back the confidence shown by the team in retaining him. Hope it is time that South African selectors take note of his batting (esp. while chasing. )
5. Dhoni & Badri: As usual, they played a key role in the the team's victory.

Negatives:
1. Vijay: It is time Vijay made a substantial contribution to the team. He is the only player (out of the four retained players) not to make a significant impact to this season.  Hope he strikes form in the final and provides a match winning partnership with Hussey.

Fan's Man of the Match: Raina. His wonderfully paced knock provided the opportunity for Dhoni & Morkel to excel.

Whom(out of RCB, MI & KKR) do you prefer to play in the finals?

Phew! what a match! Fine performance from out boys. I guess, with this performance CSK have proved wrong many experts.Lot of here are only continuously criticize & failing to back our boys during tough time. I won't mind facing RCB once again in Finals, considering they are the only strong&balanced inform team in remaining 3. MI lost its touch. KKR is bit shaky. We want to prove ourselves that we can win any team of any calibre on any day.

Out of the four would prefer MI, they have a tendency to choke.

CSk MI would be amazing such a repeat of last yr..

Last yr we defeated them in their backyard and now welcome to urs

Great win!
The openers need to click now with at least a 30 run partnership.

MI should be easier of the whole lot. Facing RCB again will be like a mini series within IPL; as we'd be facing them for the 4th time

Fantastic win!

That too on the same day when we had won the match against Punjab in the last year.

Wat a way to achieve it! Wat a team performance. Was simply scintillating!

I am sure that Vijay is striking the ball well. But just that he is unable to convert it. Exactly like Haydos last season. But my worry is Hussey. He is running out of his luck. He need to get his act. He is not playing in the last 3 matches. Well I guess its time for him to step up his form & performance.

But this victory will be remembered for long time!!

It will be Mumbai Indians to the Finals and it would be great fun to beat them there. KKR has less substance, it is still individuals effort and no team effort for them. Mumbai Indians, much fancied by the commentators in the early stages of the tournament and now left out by them would surely get hype from them if they reach the finals and it would be mockery to beat them at that stage.

Yamish said...

CareerreckoneR; That's cause all the Commentators are very pro Mumbai (Shastri, Gavaaskar and Bhogle).

@CareerreckoneR
LOL..you are spot on mate.

@Yamesh I agree. Generally, I love Harsha for his cricketing sense but when comes to IPL he is blindly biased towards MI, I don't know whats behind this?Whole country love Sachin, there is no second thought which doesn't give them luxury to irritate other franchise fans.Commentators should be fair and unbiased with their comments..they are not Brand Ambassadors for their favourite franchises!.Few commentators like Robin Jackman, Danny Morrision, LSRK are doing their job fairly well.

Yamish said...

Syed: Simple, Gavaskar and Shastri are from Mumbai. Have you ever heard them talk anything bad about Mumbai or players from Mumbai. Hell Shastri is one of the few people in the world who actually claims that Powar is a good player.

Harsha was officially in the Mumbai Indians support staff in IPL 1. So probably because of that.

@Yamish Also they are assuming MI are born to win in every matches. For them MI can't even lose a match in book cricket ,if there is any.Mumbai is a worst possible crowd in India, there were no one to witness the presentation ceremony during last year final. If there is a Kohli for Bangalore to ensure arrogance, MI always has Pollard & Bhajji (and even Munaf) to show their bad behaviour. These commentators are so dump that they even failing to acknowledge CSK for topping the fair play table...what a double standard!

I thought this was pretty good for the definition of IPL (courtesy Cricinfo):-

What is IPL ?

It is a competition where 9 teams will play hard to reach the finals to play against Chennai Super Kings!

Hahaha.. CSK fans calling LSRK commentary neutral and everyone else incl. Harsha biased.. ROFL.. #KnowledgeableChennaiCrowd :)

@Anonymous
Ya cent percent I agree with Razool on the commentary People like Ravi,Harsha as if only Mumbai Indians are greater than anybody in the IPL. But what happened MI have witnessed the worst losses against meak teams unlike CSK which is a third time finalist and Champions League Winner. Suppose if MI would have achieved those things then the commentary and the TV anchors of SET MAX will jump like anything to boost the MI. Ofcourse RCB and MI are good teams to compete with CSK but CSK is going to win th final once again. What a fantastic win in the last match ( Raina and Morkel to be praised specially).

LSRK never hides it and everybody makes fun of him for it during the commentary sessions itself. While Ravi, SG and Harsha act like they are not neutral but are so biased. Therein lies the difference.

all said and done..i think most of us wanted MI in the finals..even in worst cases if we don win..its sachin who will take the trophy..but the biger reason is I feel CSK can choke mI.

RCB looks more dangerous and sadly they have buyoed by Gayle whos in the best form of his life..and looks like MI is floundering badly....

Anonymous said...

and to be fair..cmoN guys..I feel Gavaskar is certainly biased..Ravi to an extent..Bhogle..not as much...he still is very balanced...

And MI was in a tremendous form last year..seems like they may not even make to finals this time around...

CSK winning in Chennai would be a dream come true...thats one thing we missed last yr a full fledged home support..

MSD has broken many jinxes...winning the world cup on the home ground..can he do so with CSK too?

So its CSK vs RCB AGAIN!! That to in FINALS!!

Nate_9 said...

For tomorrow's match, win the toss and bat first. Get the RCB players tired (they probably be exhausted from today's play) and put huge total on board. Gayle may not be able to do a lot against the spinning track and Ashwin. The others may follow the leader.

Varman said...

Gayle is a massive attacking opener for RCB and scores more than half of his team scores by himself with most of the runs coming from the first few overs deflating the opponents pyscologically, so I am very concerned about CSK opening duo who further thrust their share of responsibly as a burden on their middle order batsmen without contributing anything on their part. It may have worked in 1st qualifier but it was only cuz Gayle storm was restricted by Ashwin. Kohli tried to prove RCB wasn't a one army, but with sensible and controlled bowling by Bollinger, who infact kept even Gayle in check in his beginning overs, we restricted them to 175. so we need the similar performance from the bowlers but not the opening duo who gave already a formidable score all strength to defend and made it such a hard winning match. Ideally I would love to see Dhoni and raina to see through the final against RCB and morkel as a back up to finish it off if something goes wrong :-) But its a team game so Vijay can you hear me!
