With Chennai Super Kings & Rajasthan Royals coming back to IPL - Edition 11, just thought of updating the key things that would happen for IPL 2018 Season.
- Both Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants have ceased to exist. IPL will continue to be 8-team tournament only for 2018 season.
- Since this is 11th edition of IPL, 2018 IPL would have a mega-auction in Jan/Feb 2018.
- Retention Policy is not yet decided. Considering the past trend, we can expect some kind of retention policy to continue for 2018 IPL Season also
Since this is a mega auction, we can assume Chennai Super Kings focused on retaining its core team again from the auction. But the picture should become clearer as we start nearing the auction time.
