“Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents, which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant.”

Tomorrow is a crunch game for Chennai Super Kings. After starting the tournament strong, now they are billed by many as the weakest IPL team. And any more defeats would be shown as further proof to those statements. Even the team's fans have started doubting their team's abilities. And Dhoni faces his toughest challenge as a captain. He has never faced such a long losing streak. While Dhoni may be facing his toughest challenge as a captain of Chennai Super Kings, other players are criticized for their poor performance. Right from the coach - Kepler Wessels to the foreign players - Fleming, Ntini have not been great so far.
Times may be tough for Chennai Super Kings, but that's when you show the world what you're made of. There is a great saying, "Adversity doesn't build character...it reveals it." It it time for Chennai Super Kings team to show what they are made up of. For the first time in the series, they enter tomorrow's match as underdogs and expected by one and all to lose the match.
Our Team
Expect at least one or two changes in the squad.. Changes I would like to see - Parthiv Patel out of playing eleven or batting lower down the order, Anirudha & Fleming opening + Palani Amarnath brought in the squad for Joginder Sharma.
Opponents
The strongest team on the Indian Premier League would be looking to claw back to its winning ways and clinch the top spot after its surprise defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians. Expect their players to come back firing. Especially since they had a 3 day rest before this crucial match.
Most Dangerous Players:
- YoMahesh & Sangwan: The outcome of the match will depend on how Chennai Super Kings batsmen handle these two bowlers.
- AB de Villiers: He has not been able to reproduce his Pro20 form so far. So we can expect him to come good for Delhi Daredevils sooner rather than later.
Royal Contests:
- AB de Villiers Vs Albie Morkel: Both these players have played for the same team(Titans) for so many times. So it would be great to see how they fare against each other.
- YoMahesh Vs Badrinath, Anirudha & Vidyut: All these players have fought many a battle for their domestic team(Tamil Nadu). So it would be enthralling to watch YoMahesh bowl against them.
Favourites: Delhi Daredevils

Looking forward for today's game for Superkings to reverse their losing spree. Another loss, will definitely leave a detrimental effect on our team's morale and Dhoni's confidence on the team.
One has to accept that Dhoni is short of resources to marshall with and his own personal form being a huge concern. The way he struggled after starting off well in the last three matches had a huge effect on our scoring rate.
Some changes has to be made in the team to show some fight in this match against a superstrond Delhi outfit.
First of all, Parthiv deserves no place in this squad. He neither has the temperament nor the skills to excel in this format. He has scored those few runs only on inside edges and miscued hits. He HAS to be dropped without question. I am sure that his replacement will definitely perform better than him.
Next comes the so called 'iceman' and 'last over specialist' Joginder. I dont know what on earth makes Dhoni believe him. When a player like Afridi (who keeps his brain in the dressing room while coming on to bat) could belt him so fluently, it shows how incapable and thoughtless he is. Bowling overpitched deliveries and full tosses to Afridi should be considered a sin. A thinking cricketer would have easily got him out. This last over specialist helped Afridi score 20-odd runs in a single over. He has to be dropped without question. Yet, there is no possible replacement for him which shows our sorry state of affairs.
Murali has to be used effectively bu Dhoni. Bringing on Murali after the match is already in the opposition's hands doesn;t make any sense. Dhoni must utilise Murali most when the powerplay is on.
Also, there must be large scale changes in the batting order. Morkel and Raina along with Dhoni mustmake bat for max no of overs possible.
I hope the cricketing brains sitting in the dressing room would have analysed this well beofre we do. Its high time they react to help tem win.
Me like any other Chennai fan is desperate to see our team win after three humiliating losses.
Go CSK!! GO!!
@ naga,
that is why i am pretty disappointed with the job of Kepler Wessels so far... let us see.. how the team perform today's match..
win the toss, bowl first, do well in all departments, use first 6 overs in batting, without losing any wickets go till 14th over and win...
sound simple but really have to work hard..
Who are the best batsmen who can figure in CSK's top 3 line-up now? My choice:
Morkel
Raina
Dhoni
But we need one of them in the late middle order for back-up. Also, Gony seems to be a good hitter of the ball, he should be used as a surprise element at the top if things get slow.
we need big hitters only after 14 overs... but if we need blazing start we need the ultimate opening batsmans who can find the gaps and clear the ropes..
parthiv is good in scoring the problem is he is throwing his wicket away by playing nonsense shots..
for me today the opening fleming and parthiv / anirudha.
by seeing anirudha's profile in cricinfo, it seems he is a clean stroke maker in opening.
lets hope / pray for the best in today's match.... thats all we can do..
@ praveen,
Parthiv's average in T20 is pathetic and clearly shows he has not yet adapted himself to T20 batting.. So it would be better if Anirudha played upfront with Raina or Dhoni coming at No:3.. Just hoping Chennai Super Kings are able to pull a miracle today by winning against Delhi daredevils..
no need a miracle... remember, last time their openers made an blazing start....
so they has to rely on shewag gautham, and shikar dhawan..
if we pick up quick wickets we will be in the driver seat. i think we are going to win.
ok guys i am leaving from office to watch the match....
i feel very sad for delhi dare devils... becoz we are gonna win.
hurrahh...!
as i said we won the tosss, decided to bowl... i think now my predictions going right... lets see
but parthiv patel has got another life.. :(
Hope he proves me wrong..
CSK wins a thriller...
Hope they will carry it in the next match against Kings XI in front of home crowd..
ohhhhhhhhh my god WHAT A MATCH... WE CANT ASK ANYTHING MORE THAN THIS...!
for me there are more ups and downs in our innings..
1. super six over {up}
2. vidyut's powerless shot..{down}
3. fleming's knock {up}
4. raina's wicket {down}
5. dhonis patience {up}
6. morkels smashing shewag {up + up}
7. 2 wickets in 19th over {down + down}
8. 4 from badrinath {up}
9. Big GONY {really stood up to the situation}
Chennai won at last.... Wow!!
